I liked him. He could not beat the crazies, but he didn't go down bashing Democrats...
He's too good for some of them phonies anyway.
Bless his heart!

(14,449 posts)First his pay will stay the same. He'll just be another congressman. He enjoyed playing golf with the president but had to stop because the crazies criticized him. I'd tell the tea party to go to heck and watch them destroy themselves while he goes play golf with the president again.

(23,992 posts)now that Boehner's quitting, i'm quite sure we'll get to see "worse" in action. can't say i'm looking forward to it, but it may lead to increased pickup opportunities long term. the more radicalized they are, the greater our gains will be in 2020 which is a census year, and possibly our best opportunity to roll back some of the gerrymandering that's been done since 2010.

(175,772 posts)For starters, how many times did he and his cronies try to repeal Obamacare? Not to mention his determination (along with others) to stop President Obama's agenda starting January 20, 2009.

(5,304 posts)but whoever the Repubs choose next will be worse.
That's the problem they keep having. They think they can control the crazies. It's why their only solution to the Middle-East is the failed "Enemy of my Enemy" canard. They keep forgetting the Enemy of my Enemy still hates us, they just have higher priorities before they come after us.

(12,419 posts)He may have fallen on a dud grenade today, but he took so much away from children and families with his attempts to go along with the devils who wanted to hurt and destroy them.
If it was his faith (and I like to think so, because religion means nothing to me, but faith means everything) then I applaud him. But I hope that he will go a step further and renounce the people who have worked against the teachings of both his faith and his country.
