This is a really wide ranging interview...discusses how NAFA was negotiated by Bush, what Clinton did to improve it, and the consequences at the time if it had not passed.....VERY IMPORTANT to understand context...
Also debunks a lot of crap about the Global Initiative....

(17,663 posts)At the time, Mexico was at the point of collapse and there was fear that a wave of immigrants would try to enter and throw off the economy. At the same time, there was concern that if the Mexico issue went south, then relationships with all of South America would be harmed...that's why the deal was finally ratified. With adjustments for environment and labor...as best could be mustered then.
For god's sake, doesn't ANYBODY from the Sanders crew EVER want to learn ANYTHING???

The think processes are Republican though...blinders on, end of discussion...UGH
