Confederate flag foes, supporters rally in Melbourne (FL)

... Confederate supporters waved flags at .. traffic ... Their signs read "Southern Equality Matters," "Stop the Discrimination Toward American Southerners," and "Political Correctness is Nothing Less than Thought Control" ...
"We're here to defend ourselves ... They are attacking us. They want our symbols banned, our battle flags. They want to destroy our monuments," said Don Young, Florida Division lieutenant commander of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
"They want to dig up our dead and spread them in the streets ... Ask anybody ... And it's on its way here," Young said ...
Melbourne resident Brittany Williams .. and her 5-year-old son ... protested the flag. She .. was inspired to attend after somebody inside a Confederate flag-bearing vehicle shouted the "n-word" .. in the .. mall parking lot — and Aijalon .. asked her what it meant ...
