I am curious about the government shutdown

No, it is not going to happen until December, if at all.

The supposedly adults among the Republicans - yes, everything is relative - feared a shutdown because it hurt the Republicans when Cruz flexed his muscles in 2013.

Hurt the Republicans? A year later they increased their numbers in both the House and the Senate.

So why doesn't Cruz carry this as a badge of honor?

Just wondering.

I remember before the 2014 Elizabeth Warren was making the rounds, trying to enlighten the public about the achievements that the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress, I wondered why we did not have more like her. As far as articulating the issues at.. I don't know, eight grade level?

As inept as Boehner was, he was still the glue that kept their crazy train from running off the rails. Now that the nuts are running the asylum, the total collapse of the GOP can't be that far away. The extremists will finally get their wish of a party that is pure as the driven slush, but it will inevitably drive off any unified national power the GOP might hope to hold on to. If they blow another presidential election, and this one is shaping up for just that, the GOP will segment and never survive as a regional party. The GOP has proven they are completely incapable of change and if they don't change, demographics will drive them out of business.

because their "state on principles" won the primaries but lost the general elections.

As much as we wish the demise of the GOP as it is evolving now, we really should be worried about this event. Will not surprise me if all the ones strutting around with their guns on their hips will declare war on any government officials.

But remember those who can't seem to leave home without precious do so because they are afraid of their own shadow to begin with.
