Rumor control

In the light of events in Oregon, just keep in mind that in these high profile tragic events and the amount of "breaking information", not all you hear immediately will be accurate.

If you recall the Boston Bombing, Sandy Hook and all the way back to 9-11, there was all sorts of stuff thrown out by the news at the very beginning of coverage that turned out to be inaccurate or false.

just stuff. I've been listening to the live streaming from KATU, channel 2 in Portland, OR, and everyone is being VERY circumspect about what they say.

Let's not forget the initial reports of the 2nd shooter at Sandy Hook, or the claim that Nancy Lanza was a teacher at Sandy Hook.

Facts and rumors are still in the process of being separated.
