For all of these elements to come together at once is pretty amazing. For those interested, a great overview of what happened:

This whole event is absolutely hysterical.
At least my friends and family in Columbia think so.

Meanwhile, I was thumbing through the comments on the MSN story about South Carolina yesterday. Sheesh! The governor's characterization of this story as a 1,000 year event just nudged the crazies off their happy peg. "Nobody could know what the weather was like a thousand years ago!" "South Carolina wussies - we get storms like this in Texas every other day and just shrug 'em off!" "There was no weather a thousand years ago." "Even the weather is buying into this global warming hoax!"

(7,911 posts)... the cleanup after a 1000-year event isn't even done before the next 1000-year event comes along.
Once weather disasters are close enough together the repairs from one aren't done before the next one happens, it's all downhill from there, because that's when things seriously begin to fall apart at the seams.
