Well, that didnt work.
Doctor wanted me to take a couple of meds that are available without prescription, but theyre pretty expensive for anyone on a small fixed income. And there are certain foods I now have to eat and some of them cost more than what Im used to spending. So, to free up some cash to pay for those meds, I got rid of my landline and went with one of those free gubmint cell phones for us po folk. Turns out that the good people at our social services office (bless their hearts!) determined that reducing my phone bill created a boon, so they cut my food stamps accordingly. So now I still cant afford those meds, I can't afford those foods, and I cant call and complain because the free phone has such limited minutes.
Is it just me, or is it trapped in here?

(53,339 posts)When my VA doctor wanted me to start a daily aspirin regimen he wrote a prescription for the aspirin, even though it doesn't require one. That way the aspirin was provided at no cost to me.

(Also, try complaining online if there's a way)
