A mother paraded son thru Wal-Mart in women's underpants, boots and tutu as punishment

A mother is under investigation by the Department of Social Services after writing “BAD” on her son’s head, dressing him in women’s clothes and parading him around the Walmart as a form of punishment, according to Rock Hill Police.

Officers were called to the Dave Lyle Boulevard store about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The boy was dressed in a tutu, women’s boots, a women’s undergarment and a T-shirt with permanent marker writing underneath. The boy’s head was shaved “in an unusual manner, bald on top with a patch of wig on the front of his head” and the word “BAD” written in marker on the back of his head, the report states.

The mother said she was “punishing her son for fighting and making homophobic remarks in school,” the report states. She added that he has been having behavioral issues, and “corporal punishment has been ineffective, so she was attempting to embarrass” her son as punishment.

Officers told the woman this was not an acceptable form of punishment and contacted a DSS case worker. The case was forwarded to DSS.

Ninety days for extreme public mental abuse of her child.

Or ... one afternoon walking up and down the sidewalk in front of the courthouse,
her physical appearance would be limited only by the judge's imagination.

But not every parent is automatically imbued with good parenting skills. It sounds like this mother could use some assistance. I hope for her sake and her son's sake she gets it, because she's in way over her head right now.

No but being serious I hate this trend of parents "embarrassing" their kids as some form of punishment. It's no different that school bullies bullying kids in class imo.

...it's going to be the first thing they go for. It's sad as all get-outs, but it's "what works" so I guess we'll just have to deal with it.

On the 'bright' side, maybe enough of those kids will be mentally scarred enough from 'what works' that they'll 'help' us get guns banned!

(which should be obvious!)

but apart from that, she is abusive, and her son's bad behavior is undoubtedly the result of her ignorant, abusive, brutal child rearing practices.
