Officers searched the area near Northeast 33rd Avenue and Knott Street around 12:35 p.m., but did not find the armed men. There was no report of any actual threat and it was not confirmed they were carrying real firearms, according to police.
The duo were described as in their late teens or early 20s, around 5-foot-8 with medium builds. Witnesses said one of the men had brown hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The other had a dark jacket and blue jeans. One of them had a green military bag around his chest with the rifle.
Police ask anyone with more information to call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333 and reference case number 15-346978.

(13,390 posts)if there are people who not only fantasize about being a heroic gunslinger, but some also see mass shootings as romantic adventures?

(50,130 posts)Beautiful neighborhood. One side Grant High School is bordered by a through street on the side where the athletic fields are; there is a lot of city park space, and the two campuses are joined by another athletic field. It's a quiet and beautiful city neighborhood with old trees and wide streets and lawns. Homes are probably $500,000 to a million or so bordering the schools.

(53,339 posts)I lived a bit west of there for a few years, at 17th & Knott. At that time the most exciting thing happening at Grant was the filming of Mr. Holland's Opus.
