I don't want the USA to become a place where our public spaces, such as schools, office buildings, theaters, malls etc look like a prison with barbed wire and razor fences with armed guards perched in towers necessary to keep people safe. Just so you can own some guns. I don't want a world like that, and I'm not alone. The more guns argument is truly a path to less freedom.

Live with that idea. The fight will be won one day. We will have less guns and we will have a free society, not a locked down one where no one can go out in public without feeling like they've entered GITMO.

Moreover, if there was any doubt about the slippery slope, you need only read post after post by a significant number of DU members fantasizing about banning and confiscating firearms or denying the plain (and inconvenient) words of the Second Amendment.

Heck, until recently, a lot of Democrats, elected and otherwise, were proud of their positions concerning draconian firearm bans, but then they read the polls, and "gun control" became "gun safety."
