and entirely unproductive, but President Obama did explicitly advocate politicizing the tragedy.

In a area of Oregon where support for gun rights remains quite strong even after the shooting (look who they elected sheriff), such a protest is entirely unsurprising. As usual, I also predict there will be no actual criminality or violence from the protestors.

Often at great distances from the event. Not hard to imagine that they would have been arrested for a stunt like this.

I'd post a link but my cell phone isn't cooperative.

I'm not happy about them carrying guns near the president (no matter which party). I would think it would make it easier for anyone to show up and to do harm.

I'm sure it's far more taxing for the Secret Service, and more expensive.

and these idiots are out protesting because they want to keep their guns. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Unfortunately though it's their kids that in some cases died. Not that it would ever convince the gun nuts, obviously even the death of their own children doesn't convince some people.

Maybe they'd change their tune if their loved one was on the "shot dead" roster. As a previous poster noted, the Secret Service should round them all up and arrest them for threatening the POTUS.

not for release to the general public.
The Secret Service will have a photo with names addresses and type of gun.

about not allowing weapons when the president was around? Maybe it was a suggestion that doing so would mean forfeiting your weapon or getting arrested? I simply cannot believe it is OK to ever be anywhere near a president with a weapon unless you are on the job working to protect them. My god, I remember when GW was being driven down the road that passes almost where I cannot see it from my farm. I was out working that the secret service were patrolling where I could see them with weapons and watching me work just in case. No cars, no people NOTHING was allowed to use any of the roadways around where he landed for hours. Maybe it was the big sign I had placed on the roof of my barn that they flew over?
