LTTE re: Trump's plan to deport 11 million illegals

(I didn't write this letter to the editor, it was a letter a reader I don't know wrote to Barron's in response to a cover story)

I’m disappointed but not surprised at the predominately hostile comments to anyone pointing out the truth about Trump and how he operates. The part of all this that genuinely horrifies me isn’t the mindless blather about the “establishment” or the “media.” It’s the way Trump can parade out a sacrificial lamb, illegal immigrants, proclaim he would use the police and the military to round up 11 million people and send them home and not one voice in the GOP raises the spectra of a government take over. That the only historical examples of such an action having been carried out are by totalitarian regimes makes not the slightest impact on so called conservatives. In fact they mostly said nothing. No voices screaming government takeover. No comparisons to Hitler or Stalin. Just the rabble cheering him on. Not one spine in the lot willing to stand up to Trump. But if Obama suggested we pass a law limiting rounds in a magazine to only 12 there would shouts of Communist fascist takeover from the rooftops and from every single GOP candidate.
