GOP Branding Dems As Communists. Giving Away Free Stuff.

You could see it coming a mile away. Anytime you try to go for a pro worker agenda you are a communist. It is the same game that was played against unions in the 1930's. The unions were branded as communists. They did not even stop at socialist.

The problem is that when you try to push pro worker agendas like fair pay, benefits, minimum wages, worker protection, disability, unemployment insurance, collective bargaining, Social Security, Medicare, health care as a right etc you are a communist. The GOP believes that the economy should be winner take all devil take the hind most.

People had to work their asses off for a few crumbs from the government. So, it would seem like these guys would actually approve of the communists, since they gave NOTHING away for free.

a major problem with understanding in this country is and has been (since before i was born) the conflation of economic (e.g. socialism, communism, capitalism) and political (e.g. democratic, totalitarian, oligarchic) systems.

the wholesale a priori rejection of anything that could be labeled as socialism since the mid-20th C has left us wide open for the system of predatory oligarchic capitalism we now endure.
