The hypocrisy never ends

saw this on FB:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/532902568379306382/

Sorry I couldn't embed the picture - for those of you who can't open the image, it calls out GOP hypocrisy with an image of

GOP Congressman Steven Fisher for saying "Jesus would oppose food stamps" and calling food stamps "theft" while

-surprise, surprise -

raking in $2.5 million in farm subsidies

My reply on FB:

Yes, the Jesus of the Christian Bible would certainly oppose food stamps ... and any other stingy formulation of "aide" that put families through the humiliation that is imposed by access to "food stamps" as that program is administered in most - especially Republican - states. Jesus would be open handed and open hearted (the definition of "liberal&quot in assuring that the least fortunate among us were well housed, well fed, and well loved for their own sake as God's children and not seen as some type of burden on the most selfishly hypocritical among us.

If you can afford food fine but why begrudge someone else? why are Americans so afraid someone is getting more than they are! If the occasional person that doesn't qualify gets food, the world doesn't end!

No problem with taxes going to war but hate it if it helps other people in their own country.

A true Republican. Not a true Christian.

people in trouble didn't arise until the big social programs of the last century. Before then people didn't tend to assume economic problems indicated probable moral and ethical deficiencies. Now its hard-core dogma.

In Maryland they have very specific foods they have to get. Juice, milk, eggs, fresh fruit and produce. I've yet to see a food stamp recipient that had something on the belt that "outraged" me. They certainly aren't buying steaks and seafood or anything else considered "fancy".

Interfere with the wants of the wealthy.

It's not enough to be one of the "haves" anymore. One must now destroy the "have nots" to truly be a success.

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matt: 25:40

Would you let Jesus go hungry, congresscreep?
