If you are still somehow confused about White Privilege in America, watch HBO's Project Greenlight

Even though HBO is supposedly a Liberal bastion and even though the show is produced by Liberal stalwarts, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, watch how White privilege works in Hollywood which is a decent representation of how it works in America as a whole. Yes, they're making a movie, but this can ANY number of work/school projects that I've been on.

of a director. I can hardly watch this anymore. That Ichabod Crane character, self indulgent, asshole. If I were that Director I would have left long ago. Right, Damon and Affleck are liberals - so how could they be so stupid?

That is par for the course, in Hollywood. I used to work in the film/video industry and that type of behavior is enabled and even encouraged. There was no reason for Affleck and Damon to NOT pick him on that basis -- that is who/what they deal with constantly and they wouldn't blink an eye at his behavior.

The bottom line is ALWAYS the almighty dollar -- a director or actor can engage in the most reprehensible personal or professional behavior but, if they put out a good product that is successful at the box office, that is overlooked completely. Success is ALL that matters. Period.
