Any predictions for an October surprise from either party? If you have a prediction, lets hear it.
Here's a headline I found on Twitter to start this off....
OBAMA OPERATIVES WILL COMMIT REICHSTAG EVENT TO TRIGGER MARTIAL LAW, DHS WHISTLEBLOWER REVEALS

I know this is completely baseless BS from a right wing rag site, but such things ARE out there. So, will there be an "October Surprise" this election cycle? Thoughts please.
Here's the info I could find on thecomingattack.com website:

(12,072 posts)In fairness, prior to the 2008 elections, (I wasn't a DUer then but lurked a good bit.) there were lots of threads here claiming that Bush would cancel the elections and declare Martial Law. Both sides have their paranoid conspiracy kooks. I am pleased to see that DU3 has less tolerance for conspiracy crazies.

(475 posts)Though to be fair, Alex Jones and the like seem to think that Bush was involved in all this weirdness as much as Obama. Still, doesn't make them any nuttier, but at least they're equal opportunity idiots.

(34,845 posts)It won't be a complete surprise when Obama eviscerates Romney -not to us, anyways- but it may be quite an embarrassing shock to those who are, shall we say, less capable of forging a long-term relationship with Reality.

(12,072 posts)Generally those debates aren't scheduled until after both side have their conventions. Then campaign representatives meet to dicker on the details of number of debates, time limits, moderation, standing or seated, etc.

(34,845 posts)Obama should make a point of this. Call him 'my presumed opponent' to keep it fresh in the public's mind that Romney, at this late date, still has trouble clinching the nomination.

(17,195 posts)...Ronald Reagan. He will be approved by unanimous vote, but this choice will soon backfire on the party, when he proceeds to eat Mitt Romney, Reince Priebus, and Grover Norquest for their brains.
Finding no brains there, he proceeds to terrorize the entire republican party, looking for brains to satisfy his voracious appetite. All registered republicans flee to the Arizona desert for sanctuary, but most are soon devoured by sandworms.
The republican party is close to extinction, when Reagan finally catches up with The Donald, who has been tossing ex-wives at the undead eating machine, but to no avail. Reagan tries to take a big bite, but chokes on a big orange hairball, whereupon he is subdued and pushed out to sea, where he loses a fight-to-the-death with Godzilla.
T Rump is cheered and claims the nomination for himself. He loses in a landslide, since there are only 338 known republicans known to remain on earth. The End. Fade to black, roll credits.
(Well, okay, I made some of this up...)
