Liberals sweeping Atlantic Canada with 66% of all votes counted so far

According to the CBC, the Liberals have received 66% of all votes counted so far, all of them in the east, which is about 40 points higher than in the last federal election, and a drop of 22 points for the Conservatives. This is, as the CBC is putting it in their understated way, "exceeding expectations" and could be setting the stage for a Liberal majority.

Current seat counts (updated): Liberal: 32, Conservative 0, NDP 0. (!)
(170 to form majority)

Peter Mansbridge: "In all my years, I've never seen a region of the country painted a single colo(u)r like this."

The Liberals under Justin Trudeau are elected or leading in all 32 ridings in Atlantic Canada at the end of the longest and most costly election campaign in Canadian history.

At 8:20 p.m. ET, the Liberals were garnering an amazing 65% of the popular vote in the Maritimes, compared to about 16% each for the Tories and NDP in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I.

They keep insisting that they're pro-free trade, but as nearly as I can tell from news reports they're nervous about it blowing up in their faces if they try to ram it through against popular opposition.
