There are so many reasons why someone would want to save texts to print!

(24,368 posts)email to self, open on the PC and print.
Seems pretty easy.
I'm sure that method is rudimentary.

The copy, paste email is cumbersome. Me? I just take a screen snapshot of the texts I want, download them to my computer and hit print.

(21,691 posts)If you're running iOS 9.x on a 6 or below or I can't remember what generation this year's iPad is, it may be. Doing anything on my 6 is a pain because I finally shattered the screen; my 6s is amazing. C&P on my not the latest but the one before iPad running the latest iOS 9 update is very easy but I use a stylus bc my hands are fubar.

(7,318 posts)don't know why there isn't. Should have been included as a basic function of all mobile phones.

(19,564 posts)That it's not and you have to jump through hoops to get it done is a total fail.
I've mentioned this to my carrier and the maker of my phone before. It's nice to know others find it archaic as well.

There is a slight delay sending info to wireless printer but perfect printing once received.

(50,130 posts)I will be able to do it. The problem right now is that I have texts on my old phone that I don't want to lose and haven't been able to figure out how to retain them.

(24,853 posts)If you can connect it to a computer you should be able to print them I believe.

(1,958 posts)unless it's really old.
If you're really desperate, you can always transcribe the texts you wish to save. That would certainly shorten the list.
My father has a PC from 1985 that has a list of family members, actually a familly tree. The only aolution I have is to transcribe the list. I don't think there are cables or even floppy disks that can help.

(50,130 posts)....for a USB cable, I don't think.
I started transcribing some. That's a real pain. LOL.

(1,958 posts)that I last used in 1999. I still have an old working desktop with a floppy disk. If I cared enough I could sabe the e-mails to a disk, copy to the desktop and then use a jump drive to get them off my desktop.
(Now, how do I save my college term papers that are on a 5-1/2 inch floppy from an Apple IIe?)

(32,703 posts)For example, long press a contact's conversation and select email conversation. Then you can print it off from your email. Chomp sms is on android I don't know if it's on Apple's app store as well. Also, there are various text backup apps you can use to keep your text messages archived.

(50,130 posts).....from google play, I was informed that my device is not identified with google. My phone store could not tell me how to make that happen. If I could download the right google app, I could offload the texts to gmail.

(50,130 posts)I've been planning to upgrade to the S5.
That doesn't solve my current problem of how to save the texts on my current old phone, though.

(384 posts)It came out in 2014, which is old in the cell phone world.
The Note 5 came out two months ago and a big phone. It has a 5.7 inch screen. There are features of the Note 5 that are drastically different from the S5. The Note 5 comes with a stylus that will allow you to write on the screen and take notes.

(1,958 posts)What's a text message. I have a five year old flip phone. However, it does have an 8gig SD card with a built in mp3 player.

(1,958 posts)getting a cell phone for many years. I just did not feel a need to be that accessible. My family and friends have learned that I prefer an actual phone call or an e-mail. (Just don't leave me a voicemail.)
