Will the media be intimidated by the tactics of the Republican candidates?

Obviously, none of the candidates wanted to be asked to explain their positions or viewpoints in the last debate. When asked tough questions, they simply sidestepped them or went on a tirade against the media. CNBC took a lot of flak for the way their moderators handled the last debate. Or how they didn't handle it?

Now, Carson, Trump, and a couple of others want to divorce themselves from the present process. They are tired of the "gotcha" questions. They want equal time to spew their propaganda nonsense, without any interference from outside "moderators". They don't want to answer any tough questions.

How will the media react? Will they follow the wishes of these so-called "conservatives" and give them a much easier debate path than the Democrats? It should be interesting to see how the next debate goes. Will Rubio get away with his clever deflections? Will Trump be asked to explain his previous comments? Will Carson be asked to explain his connections with various organizations? Will Cruz be asked about his birthplace in Canada?

They want to get the media buy money. Their noses will be permanently stained brown by October 2016. While the media loses more creditability because they don't stand up to the whining babies in the GOP.

Ted Cruz could lament about the moderators as long as he wants. The candidates could grandstand, attack each other or whomever they want... In the end, it would all come down to one discriminator:

"Can the candidate actually write his proposal down?"

Candidates like Trump, Carson, Fiorina, Rubio, Jeb, Cruz, Christie... they make for good drama. They can enrapture an audience and switch topics in a heartbeat.

But if you actually ask them to write their answer down...

Just imagine how Cruz's tirade would have played out: He gets asked about bipartisanship and the debt-ceiling. He gets asked to write his answer down.
He goes on his tirade how the moderators are mean and stuff and his time runs out.
But in the end, the paper is still empty.
He MUST write something down or he will walk away from the question with a blank page.

The human is a visual creature. A politician struggling to write down what he has just demanded in a passionate speech, that's a very powerful and very damning picture. And the internet doesn't forget.
