No. Seriously. I am.
There's no reason why you--as a black man or otherwise--should be subjected to harassment or undue force or intimidation from the police, especially if you haven't done anything wrong or illegal. And I'm glad the police acted appropriately towards you.
And in posting your little story, I think you've underscored what should be an obvious fact to everyone: that the majority of police officers in this country are not bad people or racist or power trippers. That most of them do want to simply protect and serve and not cause people unnecessary harm.
But....and yes, there's a always a big but....
Just because you personally weren't harassed or abused by the police and you felt the need to share that ordinary fact, does not mean you can simply dismiss with a broad brush instances of plenty of other incidents where people--including many minorities such as yourself--were subjected to abuse and humiliation and violence from the police even though they--just like you--had done nothing wrong to warrant such action.
And yes, the majority of police officers here don't do things like that. But a disturbing and way too large minority of them do, and we can't just sweep those incidents under the rug or pretend they don't happen just because it didn't happen to you.
So you, and every person who felt the need to share your little vignette to all their friends and family, ought to step down off your little high horse for the time being, and think about those facts for a minute or two.
And maybe you personally ought not enjoy so much being the useful idiot to people who are in desperate need of that "black friend" to justify their own positions.
The background, in case anyone wants to know:
