PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - Portland Community College said late Thursday that it terminated the contract of an instructor in school’s CLIMB center program, days after students said he gave a quiz some called offensive, even racist ...

The quiz .. is called the "City of Los Angeles High School Math Proficiency Exam" and ... it is styled to resemble a math quiz, but the problems ... include discussions of prostitution and drug trafficking.

PCC noted ... that the instructor was not an employee of the school, but rather an “independent contractor hired by the CLIMB Center.”

One of the 15 students in the class .. said he was “very outraged, “shocked” and “disappointed," and that he refused to take the test, instead walking out of the class ...

Gosh, I don't remember seeing it before, but you're right: it's been around 20 years or more struggle4progress Nov 2015 #2

It's been discussed over and over and over.

Sadly, for many history begins in 2010 or 2011, and only things since then are considered worth knowing.

"What you see is all there is" doesn't just form a nice acronym. It also forms a horrible premise for thinking and judging.

That should have been enough time for the instructor to learn not to use it

wrote it as a joke, never meant to be actually given as a test.

You could actually solve the math problems, lol.
