Ben Carson’s Past Faces Deeper Questions

By REID J. EPSTEIN
Nov. 6, 2015 9:04 p.m. ET

... In his 1990 autobiography, “Gifted Hands,” Mr. Carson writes of a Yale psychology professor who told Mr. Carson, then a junior, and the other students in the class — identified by Mr. Carson as Perceptions 301 — that their final exam papers had “inadvertently burned,” requiring all 150 students to retake it. The new exam, Mr. Carson recalled in the book, was much tougher. All the students but Mr. Carson walked out.

“The professor came toward me. With her was a photographer for the Yale Daily News who paused and snapped my picture,” Mr. Carson wrote. “ ‘A hoax,’ the teacher said. ‘We wanted to see who was the most honest student in the class.’ ” Mr. Carson wrote that the professor handed him a $10 bill.

No photo identifying Mr. Carson as a student ever ran, according to the Yale Daily News archives, and no stories from that era mention a class called Perceptions 301. Yale Librarian Claryn Spies said Friday there was no psychology course by that name or class number during any of Mr. Carson’s years at Yale ...

They've had their token black guy in the spotlight for several months, gotten all the PR value they need out of him. Now it's time to get the right white guy nominated.

Curious.

scrutinized more of these O'Reilly-like lies and exaggerations will be brought to light. And, if his tantrum on CNN today over the 'West Point scholarship story' is any indication we should be able to look forward to a meltdown of the Wicked Witch by Dorothy magnitude shortly.

Perceptions 301, a psychology course at Yale?

Then blaming 'the media' for scrutinizing him.

He seems like a very nice guy. But a very big liar who has that whole 'it's the fault of the liberal media!' thing going on.

He mentioned today that he felt President Obama wasn't scrutinized this much when he was running. Obama was heavily scrutinized. Bill Ayers. Jeremy Wright. His place of birth. Tons of other things.

Who would tell you a lie even when he should have known that it was easily verifiable that it was a lie.

America you elect this sob and you will be very sorry for that. And it won't take very long to realize that either. He is a lying sack of shit

They just make stuff up and if they get called out on it they just change stories. Eventually it catches up with them.

A lot of surgeons are psychopaths. Or so I have read. Surgeons can't be very emotional and they have to have huge egos or they can't do it.

Hillary is the clear front runner even though she came "under sniper fire". A total fabrication. She also said she tried to join the Marines (at 27, while married to Bill in Arkansas). No evidence of that. She said she turned $1000 into $100,000 in cattle futures by reading he Wall Street Journal. What an advertisement for that paper! But a lot of people still support her. No one cares if "their" politician lies, just the other guy.

is that even though he's had genuine, admirable accomplishments he still feels the need to embellish, exaggerate and occasionally construct from whole cloth his past achievements. Isn't it enough to have been a skilled doctor who managed to work his way from an underprivileged background to become a respected, world-famous surgeon? Why does he even have to make up stories about being offered a scholarship at West Point and heroically saving people from a riot and being the only "honest" student in his class?

And have you seen the photos of his house? The whole place is a huge, tacky shrine to himself. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/gallery/2015/nov/07/ben-carson-house-homage-to-himself-in-pictures

Mental Ben has issues, that's for sure.
