Looks like Marksville cops are motherfuckers.

"Wait for the facts" say the brutality-apologists when we're judging cops. But those same motherfuckers jumped in like goddamned rabid dogs to blame the boy's father. No "waiting for the facts" for this guy.
Chris Few's friends are going to see him today, and he may not even know his son is dead.
Today has been so surreal. This is such a small town. Greenhouse's brother preordered Fallout for me earlier today and now I feel like I want to murder his brother. When this all started I had so much anger and confusion towards Chris. I couldn't understand how he could run from the cops and try to ram into them. Then it starts coming out that he may not have even rammed into them. Then it comes out that he had a personal altercation with one of the officers. Then their names come out and low and behold, Greenhouse had previously stopped Chris and me a couple years ago and made what should have been a 2 minute "Sorry I was wrong about you stealing" stop into a 45 minute ordeal while almost pulling his gun out a one point.
Now I just feel so much devastation for Chris. He's going to have to wake up to find out that two sub-human assholes pretending to be cops killed Jeremy. My wife and I are gathering all our friends tomorrow to go visit him. I still don't know if he knows Jeremy was killed. It's hard to feel justice when I still feel just so fucking sad.
It's time for us to have a real conversation about cop murders. This HAS gone too far.

Nice work, NRA and Republicans, but time to change the channel, this one is getting too silly.

(7,759 posts)No matter they should be jailed. And so should all the white cops who gunned down unarmed black kids.

(4,168 posts)When was the last time you heard police described as "two sub-human assholes " without police associations screaming to high heaven?
White people won't stand for black police murdering white civilians. You have to draw the line somewhere, after all.

(18,186 posts)and neither should anyone else.
Nor does it matter the race of the baby they killed.
I've heard white cops described as sub-human, monsters, and have called bad cops even worse names myself, no matter if they're latino, caucasian or black.
The excerpt you quoted is from a friend of the father who KNEW THIS MURDERED CHILD. Could that possibly explain the language?
Those cops are brutal, violent, evil thugs. Race hasn't got a thing to do with their crimes.
I agree that white cops are treated with more respect and delicacy, and they appear to usually escape their brutal behavior against blacks, but that has nothing to do with what these two motherfuckers did here.

(4,168 posts)Thought #1: What these two men did was an appalling crime. I don't see anyone who would argue with that, myself included.
Thought #2: These men are being charged for that crime, but oddly a lot of other police officers are not being charged for equally appalling crimes. The reason for that inequality of justice is very likely due to racism.
I can ponder the role of racism in America without somehow absolving the marshals of their crime. I'd like to see the same treatment applied to ALL police, not just the black ones.

(58,785 posts)by holding responsible their departments, the civil authorities over those departments, and the citizens of those communities and punishing them for their negligence, and any other crimes committed in the process. Just expecting communities to be ethical and responsible isn't enough.
I don't know what laws even could apply, but to me this situation suggests long-term criminal-level negligence leading to death by these officers' superiors. They belong in prison.

Guns.
It is the Guns. Because they have heard of what over 300 million guns - modern guns and rifles and ordinance of unregulated power and capacity - per capita, is doing to everyone between toddler and geezer....killing them and maiming them by the tens of thousands per year.
Per year!
Because of the astounding sheer number of Guns.
Logically, and via simple math the solution has been staring us all in the face all along!
Fewer guns equals fewer deaths and maimings.
No guns, no gun deaths!* Simple math was the answer all along!
Duh..... why didn't we all think of that before?**
*just kidding, gun lovers can keep Guns, if justifiable

(22,651 posts)serve. No more, I've learned that power, even a little power, does corrupt.
I don't know what the solution could be except randomize where police work so they can't get personal towards anyone. Or record their 'work' 24/7 to keep them 'honest'

(11,012 posts)ensure the serving of a warrant was in anyway justifiable, even more unbelievable when there was a child in the car.
The problem of excessive force and police brutality are not just the faults of the police hierarchy and government. We, the People, also hold responsibility.
As long as we rush to give LEOs and the police cover and benefit of the doubt in doubtful situations, this will continue. It is more than high time for citizen review boards who are not connected to the law enforcement or prosecutors to come into being. These review boards should also have the power to recommend criminal charges as well as specific and general changes to be made in law enforcement.
Tsiyu
(18,186 posts)this "anything goes if you're a cop" shit is ridiculous. When did people start thinking law enforcement were some other species that never need to be held accountable?
The fact is, the majority of cops do their jobs well because we never hear about them. But more and more cops seem to be taking their cue from their brothers and sisters who do wrong and get away with it. They appear to believe that no matter what they do, they will be cleared of all wrongdoing.
This sends a very bad message to cops, kids, and the general public.
Law and Order is a trickle-down phenomenon. If the people in authority are corrupt and lawless, this encourages everyone to be corrupt and lawless.
Our U.S. INJUSTICE Dept. Needs to get up off its lazy ass and start formulating a way to end the abuse and death dealt out by these raging cops.
Working day today, so I don't have time to respond to all, but thank you to the reccers and kickers and commenters above for getting it.
Love you, DUers. You help by allowing people to vent and discuss these tragedies.
