We think you need help and want to stay the fuck away from you.
This also leads you to congregate only with like minded and end up thinking you are the majority.
We think you are just fucking paranoid, fearful borderline psychopaths.

(9,904 posts)Restrictions being implemented, though I can confess I am well acquainted with such individuals who should be kept far away from such a dangerous device, a slippery slope to be sure...
I enjoy target shooting not living creatures, been around hunters all my life, I honestly believe though regardless of owning being legal or illegal, the criminal minded ones have no problem obtaining firearms by any means....
May seem silly to you I have no doubt but knives terrify me....

(11,417 posts)those killed and feeling for their families and for those wounded and traumatized.
They talk about their gun rights. They seem cold blooded and heartless to me.
I wish they would stay off this board for a time after these tragedies.

(36,392 posts)tell the man "you need to stop punching everyone who makes you mad". the very next week, the guy proudly announced he'd bought his first gun.

(2,262 posts)I avoid them and categorize them with all the racists. I know it's not fair but flaunting is like bragging. And I avoid those characters.

(6,238 posts)That one REALLY bothers me. First of all, are you so fucking unstable that you'd kill someone over an auto-accident? Or is your sense of humor just so bad that you think threatening murder is funny? Or maybe, and this is my personal favorite theory, maybe people who have those bumper stickers are just cowardly assholes who need guns to feel tough.

(7,911 posts)That, of course, is nothing more than a sick addiction resulting from feelings of inadequacy. These people don't feel complete without a piece of gun metal blue shoved into their pants. Just like a smoker feels naked or incomplete without his cigarettes (speaking as a long-time ex-smoker), or a drug addict feels fearful and vulnerable without his fix. Gun nuttery should be classified as a mental illness.

(1,098 posts)I'm surrounded by such people. Oh, sure, sometimes they take a break from talking about guns to talk about how liberals, gays, and immigrants are ruining the country, but they usually don't go too long without talking about firearms. Also, as much as they dislike liberals, gays, and immigrants, they tend to be single-issue voters (pro-Second Amendment > everything else) far more often than those who don't own guns.
There are lots of, uhm, personalities. I know people who have thousands of rounds of ammo in their home because they like to shoot 500 at a time and figure they'll save money buying in bulk. I know people who have five or six different ARs or AKs and those represent only a small part of their arsenal. I know people obsessed with 'SHTF scenarios,' where society collapses and the gun owners then save us 'helpless sheep.' Yeah, I even know a few who think some of the mass shootings are orchestrated by the CIA in an effort to drum up support for more gun control.
It's an interesting position. I've actually learned a great deal about firearms from listening to the conversations, and I'll admit, I've been to a shooting range a few times years ago in an effort to keep an open mind. Yet instead of this environment turning me into a fellow gun enthusiast, it only helps to keep strengthening my hatred of American gun culture over time. Gun violence is still by far my main reason for hating our gun culture, but people arguing about whether 5.56mm or 7.62mm is the better choice for if the government were to collapse certainly doesn't help make me more pro-RKBA.
(and no, I'm not claiming everyone in the South is like that, only that there's no shortage of people obsessed with guns)
