Media Sanitizing Mass Murder To Protect GOP & NRA . Hiding The Carnage.

There is a noticeable absents of coverage of the victims of these mass shootings. We are hearing and seeing less and less of the victims of these events. All we are seeing the distance shots of police response. The victims are just numbers now. And little is being shown of the victims themselves, who suffered, who they were and other details of their shortened lives.

The media has reduce coverage to just abstract numbers. And the extend of the severe injuries and how it has effected the survivors is rapidly disappearing. We are seeing a massive cover up by the MSM of the real cost of this mayhem.

If the public were shown the real costs in graphic detail we might see some action. So where is the coverage of the wounded and images of people being put in ambulances? Our victims are being purposely hidden like the bodies of our soldiers coming home during the Iraq war so we could continue.

After Sandy Hook I said they should show the dead bodies of the little kids. The carnage is covered as if it's a video game and the victims aren't real.

Seeing the murder scene would help and would be horrifying. But even images of victims being taken to hospital or coverage of how these events have effected the wounded would be helpful. Now you rarely see the names of the victims much less who they were and what their lives were like. Also many of the wounded will have lifetime disabilities and medical care. Any many will live diminished lives of paralysis, brain injuries, PTSD, and other terrible consequences of being shot.

I am a vet and these .223 slugs do serious damage to the body and travel in it when hit. A .223 hitting a hand or a foot will literally traumatically amputate it. The .223 of these assault weapons actually tumble upon contact.

If you have not noticed as these events continue to occur the MSM coverage is more scant. Plus the coverage disappears more quickly.

People hear "mass shooting" and don't run to the nearest television set anymore. This is how we live. Every week a mass shooting makes it into the national news. Every day a mass shooting makes it into local news. That's the new America. I suppose if we were forced to see the dead bodies there would be so many we'd eventually become numb to that, too.

When you see all the TV shows that feature so much violence it also has a numbing effect. Shows seem to be getting more realistic and more horrifying all the time. The more extreme the better.

The old CSI series comes to mind when they would show dead bodies and the actors would casually discuss the case. Some of the sights were so ghastly a normal person or even a pro might be throwing up. I am sure things are "NEVER" matter of fact in real life.

The photos and videos are all over the internet. Why not bring them to TV in a comprehensive form?

Show them the videos and the photos. "The PD declared the actions of the officers justified."

Next case.

Videos and photos. "The PD declared the actions of the officers justified."

Next case.

Videos and photos. "The PD declared the actions of the officers justified."

Andsoforth.

Just the facts and its time to move on. American's spend more time crying about an injury to a famous athlete than they do to victims of these mass shootings.

How backward is that? We know the names of all of these killers and shooters. They're famous! The media talks about them non-stop. What was the motivation? Where did they come from? Find the parents, find the friends, high school teachers, neighbours, shops they frequent, their dog walker, babysitter, whatever...

Let's make the victims famous and splash their names everywhere, and let the perpetrators of these terrible crimes wallow in obscurity. Find the families of the victims. Talk to neighbours, talk to co-workers, talk to people whose lives have been impacted by this terrible loss. Instead of letting anger saturate the discourse, let sadness at the loss we've suffered at the hands of these shooters.

We never saw photos of a dead, bloody six year old. Not once. Only the most insane gun nut could justify the carnage if it was displayed in all its grizzliness for public view.

the children at Sandy Hook and the anguish on the faces of their parents when they learned their fate, those who blindly cheer for the NRA would have been publicly shamed and perhaps something, some small step toward sensible gun laws, might have been accomplished. Yes, eventually some people might become desensitized to the sight of the dead victims, but I can't help but think that vivid images of 20 dead six year olds would be a sight so horrific and appalling that politicians would have been forced to do more than offer cheap hollow prayers. I am all for showing graphic crime scene photos, and the press is totally shirking its responsibility in not doing so.

Last night ABC actually ran a piece demonstrating how to run and hide if confronted by a shooter, apparently acknowledging that we all live in a big shooting gallery and should accept our fate as ducks. Unconscienable.

The photos and film coming back turned public opinion in a way not conducive to carrying on the war.
