NRA votes in Congress

Could anyone explain to me if you think the votes to avoid changing the status quo of "gun control" in Congress is more than donations by the NRA. Do you believe that some members are worried or scared of being taken out by incensed gun owners for compromising their Second Amendment rights and vote accordingly? Or is the money just too good not to take? Otherwise I am at a loss to explain the lack of votes this week after San Bernadino or the reinstatement of banning sales of assault weapons.

The last time I remember republicans being more than sanguine about gun control was when their leader, Ronald Reagan, was shot, almost killed and it was more symbolic than meaningful to "do something about guns".

is something no one wants to go up against, and there are a lot of them, and they are types of infantile people who rile each other up and like to feel all wronged and righteous.

just certain features were banned, like bayonet lugs and flash suppressors, but they were not banned.
