Eugene Robinson hit's nail on head: "The tragic choice we make about guns."

The common denominator in mass shootings is the use of firearms.
Variables such as political ideology, religious fervor and mental illness are motivating factors,
but death comes from the gun.

Until our society recognizes that simple truth,
the list of place names to which Colorado Springs and San Bernardino were recently added will have
no end.

What we ought to do is stick to the facts,
and the facts of these mass shootings are the guns.

As long as there are as many guns in this country as there are people, as long as we don’t meaningfully restrict firearm purchases or keep track of weapons, we will have mass shootings and individual killings and gun suicides. Tragically, this is the choice we make.

Kill people....absence of guns...even if that were a pipedream possibility, wouldn't change the desire to kill people...

There are people who regularly try to defend the gun by saying that the gun is not the cause of the epidemic of deaths in America. Some multiple other factors are behind this American insanity.

They say we need to fix ALL of these other causal factors. Not fix them first, but totally ignore the gun in America. Trying to fix the insanity by addressing guns is useless they say, because the gun has no real power

The gun is innocent, they say. It doesn't cause the problems.
Bullshit, the gun has the power to intimidate and that is bullying, which is a moral sickness.

The gun is disassociated from causation by these confused thinkers trying to justify their anti-social desires in the face of a society that is bleeding.

Meanwhile people in this same tribe will say that more guns will CAUSE peace in society; will create a polite society.

These justifications are pure fantasy. The claim that the gun can be a cause of good results, while denying causality for the the bad shows confused logic. Since America may be the most heavily armed country on earth, why are we not the most polite?
I reject all arguments defending the gun from this sociopathic, blood-on-their hands tribe.

When the messenger is untrustworthy, extra special evidence is needed before I will assume that any of them can recognize objective truth over subjective conviction.

We can repeal and replace the 2nd amendment, admittedly not soon. Eventually the number of USA deaths by NRATERRORISM will rise too high to tolerate. And we are apparently able to tolerate a considerable number of deaths by gun as long as the trigger man is simply a misguided white man!

There are those who say that disarmament can't be done because ammosexuals claim they will go to war, enjoying the smell of blood and gore and the feeling of a warm gun in hand.

Eventually when their brains are splattered on the wall and their cold hands drop the gun, it will be good riddance to a bad amendment.
