FFS...Here we go, US to roll out new Terror Alert System

Be ready to be scared! How fucking gullible are we???

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh (JAY) Johnson says details about the new system will be announced soon. He says the change is needed to better inform Americans about the country's security posture.

This will be the third terror alert system put in place by DHS since the September 2001 terrorist attacks. The much maligned color-coded system was replaced in 2011 by the National Threat Advisory System.

Johnson says terrorist threats to the U.S. have evolved and terrorist-inspired threats are a growing concern. He says the changes to the system will keep the public better informed. He didn't provide specific details.

Johnson made the announcement Monday at a Defense One magazine forum.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is an important announcement from the New York City Police Department:

Keep your belongings in sight at all times. PROTECT YOURSELF! If you see a suspicious package or activity on the platform or train DO NOT KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. Tell a police officer or an MTA employee. REMAIN ALERT AND HAVE A SAFE DAY!"

Over time I memorized it by hearing it over and over. Seems to me they're playing it a lot more lately.

But yes, we have to live life. We get vacation days, sick days and personal days. We don't get terrorism days.

I pretend asking questions relevant to the topic is "stalking" too. It allows us the convenience to further avoid supporting our conclusions... which is indeed, often necessary for the irrational or lazy mind.

I didn't care for the old color scheme at all. They should check in with Pantone for this year's fashionable colors, which are Rose Quartz and Serenity. https://www.pantone.com/color-of-the-year-2016 Those sound like nice colors for terror alerts.

are sector specific alerts that primarily go to local law enforcement then the local media of that area.

These systems were used solely to scare us and divert our attention under W.

Obama himself has no interest in doing that, as is clear by the past 7 years, but those under him who have to justify their existence are another matter.

I wonder if these warnings apply to the vast rightwing terror organizations who primarily target healthcare providers.

was to scrap the one put in place by the prior administration, I think your description is probably very close to the mark of what will be put in place. Most likely it will require a high degree of confidence in the intelligence to move to a media announcement phase.

This would be consistent with how this administration has handled the issue of terrorism for the past seven years.
