Last Night, Was It Just A Slip.....

or the slip-up that reveals an entire body of lies? Christie's stories never hold up to scrutiny, but nobody really wants to look deep enough to see where his stories fall apart. Like at a November 2013 press conference when Christie says he was "sauced" about Fort Lee having too many lanes at the George Washington Bridge and asked Sampson to look into it but a month later when it all hits the fan-he never heard of any such thing. (hint-when you're a governor, most of what you say publicly gets recorded) Well here's another one-last night at the GOP debate, Christie forgot the name of the King of Jordan.

On ISIS, let's be clear: The president needs to be a force that's trusted in the world," Christie said. "This president's not trusted ... but I'll tell you this: When I stand across from King Hussein of Jordan, and I say to him, 'You have a friend again, sir, who will stand with you to fight this fight.' he'll change his mind.

King Hussein of Jordan died in 1999.

Hey, you know, there are lots of foreign leaders and you can't be expected to be perfect in remembering all of their names. EXCEPT, this particular foreign leader was supposedly a "friend" of Mr. Christie. You know, the kind of "friend" that can give you expensive gifts without violating bribery laws and ethics rules. Oops.

When Chris Christie traveled, with a security detail and multiple members of his family, to Israel and Jordan in 2012, he wrapped up his “trade mission” with three parties in Jordan — two at the king’s residence, one in the desert, all, apparently, with U2 lead singer Bono. And while there, the Christie entourage stayed in rooms at luxurious Kempinski hotels (you apparently can’t write “Kempinski” without also writing “luxurious”) that cost about $30,000, all told.

But who’s counting when your bill is forwarded to King Abdullah of Jordan? Which is exactly what happened.

http://america.aljazeera.com/blogs/scrutineer/2015/2/3/christie-squeezing-luxury-travel-orange.html

and before Christie changes his story again about the King, don't forget this explanation:

Christie's deputy chief of staff for communications and planning, Maria Comella, told the New York Times that King Abdullah paid the costs as a friend of the governor. They met at a dinner in New York in 2010 hosted by then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg, according to the report.

http://www.app.com/story/news/politics/new-jersey/chris-christie/2015/02/03/chris-christie-vacation-jordan-king/22821233/

The problem with lying is that you've got to remember all of those lies. And you've got to try to keep your stories straight. And you've got to avoid having one lie conflict with another. Poor Mr. Christie can't seem to keep up. A good prosecutor seizes on inconsistencies like these to unravel lies and get to the truth. Is Mr. Fishman a good prosecutor? We'll see.

but he isn't done until he's done. That means either he drops out of the race or gets indicted. Until then, there's always the danger that he seems like the reasonable alternative to the other clowns. (not to mention that we've got to continue to live under the despotic rule of Barron Harkonnen here in NJ) There are just so many things this guy has done and continues to do without being called to account. I can't help but suspect that he and Trump are playing some kind of game where Trump throws his support to Christie when he tires of campaigning or realizes he doesn't actually want to govern. Until it's really over , people need to be reminded at every turn about just how big a creep Christie really is.

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie may be soaring in New Hampshire, but back in New Jersey, voters are just sore.

The governor's job approval has slipped to its lowest point, and his disapproval rate has reached a new high, according to a new Rutgers-Eagleton poll.

Just 33 percent of registered New Jersey voters now approve of his performance, a drop of six points since October. More, 62 percent disapprove, up six points.

That's basically his ancestry going back several generations, to put it simply. In the Hashimite Kingdom, you're gonna find a lot of "Hussein" going on.

That said, it was incredibly tone deaf of CC to not call King Abdullah what everyone in the world calls him. His father is still remembered fondly in Jordan, but Abdullah is his own man and has made his own way.

What does he call his good friend when they're at parties in the desert with Bono? Skippy? As in, Hey Skippy, thanks for picking up the tab at the Kempinski for me and my peeps. It seems more than tone deaf, it exposes him as the liar that he is.

nickname while doing his military school in the UK. Or maybe he picked up a cute American nickname while he was attending Deerfield Academy (right here in good old Massachusetts)?

I am not going to assume that he didn't really know the guy when I'm sure he met and interacted with him to some extent. They may not exchange Eid cards, but I will bet they had a conversation or two. Why would Abdullah pick up the bill for a total stranger?

I've got to say, Abdullah is sharp as a new tack--his Dad was a pretty smart guy, who knew how to thread the needle in a tough environment surrounded by, in essence, asshole neighbors, spending his life with his hand in the dog's mouth, figuratively speaking, and he managed to make it work in tough times.

Abdullah, though, I think is even smarter than his old man, who was no fool. And he's tough, too, like his father (who put down an insurrection simply by force of his personality--true story). Abdullah isn't the type of guy who gets ripped off--he's savvy and careful.

Along with a myriad of other despots and dictators. Then we are shocked when the people in those countries finally rebel and they don't genuflect before us like they did their former kings and despots and dictators that we supported for decades.

Nice clip of George, I can still watch any episodes and laugh even though I've seen them all probably 20 times.

who were so impressed with Christie's debate performance?

What they're saying about Christie after 5th Republican debate

Here is a look at what they're saying across the nation about Gov. Chris Christie after the fifth 2016 Republican presidential debate Tuesday night in Las Vegas:

• Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post declared Christie one of the winners of the debate, playing "the role of experienced adult."

• Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post also called Christie a winner.

• Hollywood Life examined how some people on social media were offended by Christie's opening remarks.
