Bolton: Bush Left Obama ‘a Mess’

More than three years after his former boss left the White House, John Bolton spoke out Wednesday, saying that President Obama came into office in 2009 and had a number of problems to clean up after President Bush's eight years in office. Bolton, former ambassador to the United Nations, also gave some free advice to presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney, saying it won't pay for Republicans to try to debate how big the mess was. "I think people would agree with Obama that he was left with a mess," Bolton said. He added that Bush's legacy would get better the farther away we get from his presidency.

As more time passes, it will become more evident that Bush Jr was responsible for hundreds of thousands of needless deaths. It just takes time for many to accept a truth as unpleasant as that.

There has never been any question for me regarding the Bush* legacy and the amount of deaths caused by his illegal, immoral was on Iraq. I never believed him from the beginning when he said there were weapons of mass destruction there, and I cried when the U.S. troops crossed the desert and invaded. I think half of the Country then was with me. 56 percent of Democrats opposed this war.

Sure, the president appointed Wall Street types to oversee the nation's financial system, after a collapse created by these very same people, but Bolton? If he was going to pick a GOP figure for a top post, at least he would pick one who is not crazy.

Though it appears Bolton was lucid for a moment here, if only accidentally.

the mess that Bush was responsible for. Even Democrats AND liberals blame Obama, buying into right wing lies. I gotta hand it to the Republicans. They know how to lie with such skill, repeating the lies over and over and over again until even Democrats and progressives start repeating those same lies!

Wake up, people! Stop blaming Obama for this shit that Bush (and Clinton) left him!!!!!

Remember the ranch in Crawford? Governor Bush purchased it in 1999 to enhance his cowboy, good ol’ goober boy image for his presidential run. Rancher Bush was all hat and no cattle. President Bush pretended to be something he was not, a leader. Lieutenant Bush couldn’t lead a troop of Girl Scouts to cookies. The face of the Texas Rangers for five years until 1994, the front man, he was uninvolved with baseball operations. Sure, he’s the affable kind of guy you’d like to have a beer with, but he’s an alcoholic. Cowboy Bushie never rode a horse, unlike his model, Ronald Reagan.

had nothing to do with.

Obviously, if there were a number of Bush problems to clean up, either (1) Obama took care of them like killing Osama and pulling troops out of Iraq to temporarily go to Afghanistan or (2) such problems were signifigantly less important that passing health care reform.

Bolton is wrong.

There is a little nagging problem with the economy. Obama had a choice between completely restructuring the economy (which Sumners was for and Geithner was against) or restructuring health care.

Obama's choice was to follow Geithner's advice (the lowest risk choice on the economy) and address health care.

My personal hope and prayer is that once Timmeh goes away and another election isn't at stake, Obama will finally have the courage to address the economy. Cause otherwise, Rome is gonna be burning...

Bolton is an ideologue, not a partisan. He actually believes the things he says and advocates for unlike Rumsfeld or Cheney or Powell or Rice; Bush didn't listen to him. To the likes of Bolton, that mess existed because Bush chose the expedient and politic policy that suited the agenda rather than choosing hard solutions.

Yes, Bolton's fucking nuts...but he's sincerely nuts.

Bolton looks past that detail :

Instead, Mr Bolton said, when faced with the prospect of re-electing Mr Obama, "people are saying OK, you inherited a mess, well what have you done to fix it?"
