We decided to get a rescue puppy. Everyone meet Jax (with my step-daughter):
Edit: I wanted to name him Bernie, but she wasn't having it. She allowed it to be his middle name (Jax Bernie):

Good luck to you and Jax!

They told me he won't be a spaz. Is this true of your Machete? He's he pretty chill?

(11,797 posts)My chihuahua spends most of his days (winter or summer) buried under blankets or snuggling on my lap while I work (I'm a professor, so I work from home a lot).
He has two much bigger brother dogs (a 65# Viszla mix and a 20# All American special, aka mutt). He is the boss of them. He is a kissing monster, a picky little eater (typical of small guys), but he hasn't met a person he doesn't like.
Here he is:

I actually follow a special needs rescue group in NY who rescues cleft palate and lip puppies. Most of them are Chi's, since the original rescue was a Chi with hydrocephalus and cleft palate. She lived for 3 years, proving to the world the doctors were wrong. Since then the founder makes it her mission to keep proving doctors wrong, and watch the Chi's grow. Right now they are raising a Chi who has deformed front legs that looks like he's praying. Name's McFly.
Here's one of his videos that went viral.

(7,309 posts)And please much love and peace to you and your family (furred and unfurred).
My fiance's mom lost both her dogs the past two months. So, it's been three months of losing our loved ones. It was time to replenish.
Of course, there is the "Damned Cat" (my term for our cat). For some reason, the cat loves me (I forgot the cat's name; Snow Angel or Snow Ball - I've used my term so long, I've forgotten). But anyway, the Damned Cat loves me for some reason. Now that she has company, she's been hissing at the new addition. This cat has no qualms about destroying Jax Bernie, I feel.

(8,267 posts)My furry guy will be 17 in March! I know he'll be leaving me soon, and I guess I'll be visiting the HSPCA after I get past the grieving.
Thank you for rescuing that little cutie.
