http://blog.theanimalrescuesite.com/cs-snow-romp-joyous/?
Dogs of all ages love snow: the excitement, the wonder, the magical changes to everyday scenes. You may not know exactly why your pup jumps and dances outside in the snow, but it's certainly fun to watch. Be sure to keep an eye on your energetic fuzz-ball when he or she is outside, though, as all of that energy and excitement could make him or her distracted and less responsive. Watch this video to remind yourself just how much dogs love to play in the snow.

(5,252 posts)just sunbathed during the warmer months. As he grew older, I would think, Man, old pup is really slowing down. But when winter came around, that guy was invigorated indeed. Seemed like a youngin' all over again.
Thanks for sharing and RIP Irv

(5,604 posts)My ole girl gets a bit frisky in the snow, but mainly, (because she's on a strict diet) she thinks its an all-you-can-eat-snow-buffet, plus the occasional frozen poop for desert.
I think this my all time favorite video of a a joyous dog though:

(5,604 posts)I used to have Siberian husky, who was just like that, but in the winter he'd run and dive into snow covered fields and catch field mice.

(29,414 posts)No snow for her in Houston, but she was one hell of a puller when you walked her (or she walked you!) We would let her sleep outside when it got colder, mainly because she wouldn't come inside. Just curled up with her tail over her nose, happy for the cooler weather
Your husky sounded like he was part fox

(1,232 posts)proper princess though, a teacup maltese.
The first time she saw snow, we had been driving through France to the Loire and got stuck in an unexpected snow storm. We had to let the pooches out to do their business after driving for hours.
She wouldn't get out of the car, so I set her down in the snow, and she absolutely jumped back into the car with her 'fuck this shit' look.
When she was little, she'd broken her leg, requiring surgery and a permanent titanium splint on the bone. A couple years later in Paris, after avoiding any successfully avoiding any contact with snow, she simply had to do her business outside after a rare snowfall. After a couple minutes of not being too bothered by it all, she started screaming hysterically, and I realized that the titanium shaft was becoming very cold and painful! Isn't that horrible? Poor thing. Wrapped her up warm and scuttled her home quick as could be.
My latest dog hasn't yet seen snow. With his aversion to rain, I have no idea how he'll like it!
