This is one of those cases where you truly can ignore it and it will go away.

Ignoring it will just encourage them. Ignoring it the FIRST time at the Bundy Ranch lead to the current bullshit that's going on. And ignoring it is making Black Lives Matter, Occupy and other groups that would have been dealt with FAR more harshly seethe with rage. Action needs to be taken to drive them out and arrest them. Send in the drones armed with tazers, smoke them out, do what it takes, but don't let them be treated with kid gloves. They'll do far worse the next time if they're allowed to get away with it.

And when they pack up and go home they should be arrested and thrown in jail for sedition. So I didn't really mean ignore it in the sense of letting them get away with it.

I'm sorry. I wasn't very clear on what my intended meaning was. I agree with you and all points but one. The solution is not to "drive them out and arrest them", but to wait them out and arrest them. Rolling a squadron of tanks to surround the place was my first reaction, but that would just be playing into their publicity-seeking desires. Better to ignore them until they leave, and arrest them on their way out.

Just my opinion, of course. And since I"m not in a position of power my opinions are, in reality, not worth a thing.

Yes, these nut case militia people have come to Oregon to make a stand. They are not from Oregon, but from Nevada and Arizona. The local townspeople are good folks and have learned how to get along with others after more than 150 years of living in a small town together with differing opinions. The rough edges are worn off for the sake of community.

I love this beautiful refuge where we used to spend Thanksgiving with friends. Locals are friendly and tolerant of we city folks and no discouraging words are spoken. For this progressive fourth generation Oregonian, it hurts when the media echos that this militia is from Oregon.
