If you say the sky is blue, someone will let you know that it is gray from where they stand.
It is more difficult to reach a consensus nowadays, even when you think the subject matter might be unanimous. More folks are willing to express their opinions and posts seem to move much more quickly down the page than in the past.
Hopefully, as we enter the new year, we will be able to unite against the fascists on the right? Now, we will await a response for calling them 'fascists'.

(1,510 posts)In the earlier days on du if i read a couple posts on the latest page and then went back and hit the refresh button, I'd usually be looking at new posts at least half way down the page. Now I'll read in the morning, come back in the afternoon and the latest page is almost the same. I do have gdp and the candidate forums turned off, so that no doubt is having some effect at the moment, but I think it's still a valid observation. As far as posts within threads, a 200 post thread now usually doesn't have a fraction of the substance a 20 post thread would have had say, in 2003 or 2004 in my opinion.
