Only reports on the intertubes are background stories and the death threats against the Harney County sherriff.
What gives? There were reports yesterday, apart from tarp man, that occupiers were coming and going freely. Doesn't sound like a standoff to me. I know it's a cheap shot, but if the occupiers were black or Paiute, they would be dead and this would be over.

(62,444 posts)Are you looking for what, if anything, is happening right now?
My guess would be "breakfast".
"occupiers were coming and going freely" - aside from the clowns at the HQ building itself, there are all sorts of people hanging around that town, doing surveillance and all sorts of things. There are potential hostiles in places other than simply the park HQ. IMHO, a much wider net is being made.
The top clowns don't need minding, since there is a gaggle of press broadcasting every fart they make.
But, yes, the Bundy brain trust went to dinner at the Pine Room in Burns yesterday. The Tripadvisor reviews are fun. I gather that everyone gets a shrimp cocktail, soup or salad, and bread with every entree. However, the "shrimp cocktail" is apparently made with those little salad shrimp floating in a questionable cocktail sauce.
I strongly suggest the soup, which may be minestrone or their own "green chili soup" that sounds like the most interesting item on the menu. However, the NY strip is hit or miss, but the pork chops (either 1 or 2) are consistently well-reviewed:

The set dinner includes a small shrimp cocktail, soup, salad, bread, and an entree with vegetables. Including a well-cooked 8oz top sirloin, the cost was only $17! The Red Diamond Cabernet at $18 for a bottle was good; the Red Diamond Merlot less so. There are few other good restaurants in Burns, and few that open after 8 or 9 p.m., so this one was understandably busy.
IMHO a lot of the bad steak reviews come from people who order "well done", and are disappointed that their steaks are overdone. I'd go somewhere on the border of rare and medium if I were to order one. Also, the ribeye is probably a better bet than the NY strip.

(62,444 posts)I can't believe how many people bother to leave a restaurant review saying not much more than "Place was nice, food was good".
For all you know, that person regularly eats from a trough.
When someone says, "Dinner came with a free napkin!" or "They had the 64 Crayola box for the place mats, and several wooden games involving golf tees", then at least you are able to get some sort of grip on what the reviewer's ordinary expectations might be.
If you read the rest of those reviews, you'll get a pretty good idea of what I mean. Everyone mentions the shrimp cocktail, but only two of them bother to mention that their idea of "shrimp cocktail" is a little off-kilter.
In fairness, many of the reviews say "small shrimp cocktail", apparently meaning a cocktail of "small shrimp" and not an ordinary shrimp cocktail, but a small one.

(20,577 posts)from MSNBC said they were all in Burns at a restaurant having dinner. They must have gone "home" by now.
