It is supremely ironic that areas most effected by these natural disasters are now asking for federal help and money to rebuild. They are like a recalcitrant child who runs away or is unruly until they get in trouble. Then they run back to mommy and daddy. And this behavior happens over an over again.
And now in Texas their governor threatens the president over his executive orders. And many Texans, who benefit from the federal trough think the same way. So how would they feel if federal disaster money were denied.
They never learn that at some point they cannot have it both ways. If these places were truly independent and on their own, they would never recover from the destruction they experience. Many of these same RW people would be permanently living in shanties.

(838 posts)As a human being as well as a liberal, progressive democrat who lives within the EF4 tornado path that struck Rowlett, Texas on 12/25; as someone who was lucky to survive and still have a roof, my pets and my family, PLEASE STOP YOUR GENERAL REFERRAL TO ALL HUMANS IN RED AREAS OF THE COUNTRY as republican, and for FS, recalcitrant children. Really!? This is akin to blaming all muslims of being radicalized.
Not only are you wrong, you are wholly offensive.
STOP IT.
