As the 5th Dementia band knows, music can change your life. Made up of Alzheimers and Parkinsons patients along with volunteer UCLA student musicians, the band performs for the pure love of the music. But its much more than that. The Alzheimers Foundation of America states that when used appropriately, music can shift mood, manage stress-induced agitation, stimulate positive interactions, facilitate cognitive function, and coordinate motor movements.
