Ted Cruz: Voters should spank Hillary Clinton like I spank my five-year old daughter

Last edited Sat Jan 9, 2016, 12:27 PM - Edit history (1)

Tough guy Ted Cruz To People Magazine:

"You know I'll tell you, in my house, if my daughter Cather, the five-year-old, says something she knows to be false, she gets a spanking," he said. "Well, in America, the voters have a way of administering a spanking."

......try for five seconds to imagine Cruz suggesting “spanking” Christie, Bush, Rubio, or (God forbid) Trump.
(Carson or Fiorina, unfortunately, might not be spared.) The sexism (of which infantilizing is one aspect, hence the allergy many of us have to being referred to as “the girls” once we get older than 18.

I'd campaign wholeheartedly for Trump if the alternative was Cruz. Yes, Cruz is that bad.

Trump is a showman and charlatan. Cruz is ideologue and "true believer". The fact that Cruz is leading in some polls scares the crap out of me.

Is what is so frightening to me as well. He believes every word he says is true and is aligned with the work of God Almighty and any who disagree are shaking their fists in defiance of God. No compromise, no common ground...only acceptance of the beliefs or rejection, and those that reject are rejecting God. This is what happens when evangelicals move from the pulpit to politics. Their rigid worldview and beliefs are set in stone.

Not that it really matters, it's like wondering if Hitler "truly" hated the Jews vs. being a highly accomplished opportunist, but there's no reason to believe Cruz is sincere about anything. I agree that Trump is too cosmopolitan to believe his own backwater nativist spew, but that hardly matters either, actually nothing said in a primary seems to matter once compassionate-conservative or tough-on-stuff-liberal season rolls around. And once they're elected it's anyone's guess, or maybe you don't have to guess, it's either more of the same or much much more of the same. I'm almost less scared of Christian Dominionists than the sheep's clothing ones, I mean it's hard to win a general election on "70% of you fuckers are going to hell" but I guess stranger things have happened.

is what's lead us to this. Some truly terrifying people are now considered 'serious' contenders for the office of president.
