Some problems have no simple solutions. These people get taken out by the government forces, then what becomes of their children, their friends, their sympathizers? Nope... first agent of the government that starts shooting could very well create an incident that would be even worse than Ruby Ridge or Waco. This is why they haven't taken these measures yet.

Much better if we let their insignificance be shown on a National and international level, let them occupy the refuge until they run out of food and water. Eventually, they will get bored and go home. Fighting for a cause is one thing - starving for it is quite another - and these guys are not Gandhi.
