More thoughts on the Oregon criminals

Okay I get not wanting another Waco. I get that.
But leaving the water, power, and phones on?

Explain why those aren't shut down like last week.
Why couldn't the Feds announce that time is up and that they are shutting it down plus closing the roads in and out.

Then wait for them under these new conditions and arrest them as they leave. They won't last long as they have shown they are not well prepared.

That makes no sense.

You need to force them to use up their limited resources.

I never saw a link confirming this.
So what if they did. Force them to burn all their fuel.

On OregonLive and reports from the scene on Twitter.

Not one have I seen that power has been turned off.
And why aren't the roads closed?

generators require fuel, an endless supply of it to stay indefinitely.

And what type of generators do they have?
They'd have to be pretty skilled to tap it into the main power.
I haven't seen any report that they have generators.

As it is, they come & go at-will, tear-down Federal fences, get an endless chain of supplies delivered, and now they are harassing local Burns residents, according to the Co. Sheriff as reported today by the Eugene OR newspaper of record, here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027521060

So continuing to ignore this any longer is inexcusable.

They think Ammond will see the light and agree to leave if negotiations are handled correctly. Plan B is exactly to let the power run out. They won't be able to tolerate the cold.

and athe back up generator kicked in.

If that's not so then I guess it could be about not wanting the pipes to freeze.

I don't think the FBI or Sheriff wants them there so something is being negotiated or gamed to resolve the standoff. It's not worth bloodshed, that seems to be the point.

to avoid turning it into an even bigger mess with casualties. The amount of time it lasts seems irrelevant. Though it is true the sheriff tried to dialog with them, show them sympathy and then Ammond rejected any offer to leave.

Worst come to worst they can always tear gas them.

Water's by well out there, but make them burn generator fuel to pump it. They'd probably have to use a jammer to cut cell phone coverage...but it's not like the FBI doesn't have that capability. And although there's at least one fireplace in one of the buildings (I've been there...), I bet they don't have a lot of firewood, especially since the facility's not usually occupied in the dead of winter.

Or, as I suggested elsewhere, Gov. Brown could decide "no more Ms. Nice Gal" and mobilize some NG units. I'm betting all that brave talk about being ready to die would clam up real fast looking down the bore of an Abrams' main gun (and realizing nothing you have with you will do more than scratch the paint).

These aren't survivalists.
These are softies from the suburbs.
Jam their phones and shut them down.
They'll be begging to surrender.
