I am going to miss President Obama, but I am glad he is nearing the end of

his Presidential career. I am sure that despite the rantings of the Monday morning evaluators he could have accomplished so much more. It is so easy to say what he should have done and come to conclusions as to why he didn't. Many ignore the fact that failure to send to and elect legislatures on the local and state levels has had a profound effect on what happened at the national level. Locals voting for the like of Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and some radical democrats are true examples of that. We all must take some responsibility for the failure of government. I know that the rebuttals have already been written before the speech has been delivered, but the presenter has the last word.

To have to endure more than opposition to his policies, but the many attempts to dehumanize him with some of the most vulgar demonstrations and oppositions will become a part of the American tapestry. The birther issue ran its course and it still is revitalized by the likes of republicans who cannot come to say that they believe that the President of the United States was born in Hawaii. Some of that tapestry has threads that shine with pure hate. Mr. President, I salute you for remaining professional and COOl through it all. Return to the country its government and its experiences. Let the next one find out that the office of the Presidency is no cake walk and that without cooperation, we will always find the quagmires of governing are complex and chaotic. Let the daily briefings confuse all the loud rantings of those who are promising to change things. It will be interesting as I am sure that you also encounters some of the same.

Mr. President, there have been victories and there have been defeats. However, exit with your head held high and step into your next challenge.....what lies ahead.

I would very much like to see Obama act without constant pressure from his own party to hew to lobbyists in order to secure the 2016 election for a less popular Democrat than him.

6. But don't you know that he's going to declare martial law and refuse to leave office?

(Sarcasm, of course).

But there are idiots out there who still completely and utterly believe this. That fact (i.e., that there are idiots out there who still believe this) is frightening to me.

Just a few years of enlightened liberal dictatorship to break the logjam, tell all the lobbyists to go fuck themselves, bring in universal healthcare, sensible gun laws, much needed constitutional reform, etc. Think how great that would be.
