Gov. Greg Abbott calls for a convention of states to amend the Constitution during a speech at the Texas Public Policy Foundation in Austin, Texas, Friday, Jan. 8, 2016. Abbott called on Texas to take the lead in pushing for constitutional amendments that would give states power to ignore federal laws and override decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Former Gov. Rick Perry is endorsing a Pastor, Re. Scott Fisher for House Seat of District 92-Bedford, Texas.

Extremist Republicans want Reconstructionist to replace the Constitution with their Seven Mountain Dominionist religion. Seems like TX Senator R-Ted Cruz is their leader. Gregg Abbott as a Catholic may being converted to the Seven Hills of Texas.

to fund public education according to the Texas Constitution. Abbott as TX Attorney General twice appealed the decision which was found for the children of Texas. The 2014 election replace many Texas Democrats in the TX Legislature. Now there is a move by the new AG Ken Paxton-the one undergoing criminal charges in a Collin County Court- to move the case from the court system to a panel of three lawyers who will act as judges to decide the case. This law was introduced and passed by the 2015 Spring Legislative Session.

There are lots of things that stink in Texas. Wait until parents find out about this. And yes they were dumb to the real issues and platform of the Texas GOP. I am going to do an OP on this from a unique point of view, in Texas Group, in a few days. Others should post in the group too. The more information, the better to help our children and the voters.

Texas public education. A TPP like panel of lawyer judges are setting up to take over the Texas Constituition School Funding Suit brought by most of the independent school districts on behalf of the children of Texas. This is after a Court has found for the school districts, twice. Texas cut Constitutional public education funding in the 2011 Legislative session.

We need a Bern in Texas. And I don't mean a prairie fire.

3. My understanding is that if there are constitutional conventions

that anything can be brought up. Thus amendments against money in politics, gerrymandering etc. could also come before these conventions. My sense is that overturning Citizens United would be much more popular than undoing the federal gov't.

I hasten to add I am no expert on this.

This is a really stupid idea but may be due to the fact that Greg is worried that the courts have struck down his voter id law and will soon strike down his abortion (targeted regulation against abortion providers) law
