Federal Government Facing Larger Rebellion. GOP Largely Supports Idea.

If you "read between the lines" so to speak and look at the demeanor of the GOP and its candidates they support this kind of rebellion. It plays into their hands in their eyes and will help them win elections. The Trump rhetoric is just in time because it stirs up passions like a "red flag to a bull". Enrage voters might do anything and go their way no matter how insane they are.

The GOP privately is giddy over the occupation and rebellion because if the government DOES ANYTHING they will have a campaign issue to smear Obama and the Democrats even more. They will take your guns and put you in camps.

Some things I wrote in another thread but also belong here:

...there is also a faction of the civilian law enforcement corps supports the insurrectionists and could be preventing action as others would prefer.

The town is being taken over for the purpose of acquiring a base town for insurrectionists where all others are run off and heavily intimidated endlessly until they have an unfortunate mishap or leave. They want the whole county and ultimately several states to cede from the US... they figure that their empire, containing much of the mineral wealth and that of other natural resources, will provide for them. But first they want to play civil war because they wanna play with their gunz.

And

This is larger than most would think. I'm way over here in MT and some folks from my broader locale are there and participating. I don't know any of them, personally, but I know what they're about. And this has been a "thing" for a long time.

In my younger days I was acquainted with a guy who was involved with a statewide (in his state of residence) group who had a "plan", shall way say, for a sort of insurrection as wee see at the Malheur today. The thing is, the group was interwoven with others in surrounding states and they all wanted to either overthrow the government or at least take over 5 or 6 of the western states and maybe throw in Alaska for sh*ts and giggles. That was back in the mid 1970s.

These like-minded individualists want no governing, live in a fantasy world of some romanced vision of how life was in the early 19th century, only with modern toys (for which they apparently accept that technology came in the form of manna from gawd since science is bunk.) They have been around for decades.

I'm not sure of what I think the answers are to our current situation but I think that a lot of this will end up being up to individual citizens to stop this crap at the local level , 'cuz asking big daddy in DC (and I mean all agencies of the government not just the president) to come swooping in is only going to be a temporary band-aid treatment.

As far as I can tell, this is our "ride" currently. I think this year will determine how serious we are about avoiding a massive depopulation set of events for the whole planet along with how we plan to survive as a species.

As a amateur prospector,we have encountered several people involved or associated to or with anti Government causes. Having dealt with the BLM on claims, found them so helpful when it comes to the what where and how,and yes, there times when we are threatened by these so called Patriots. You just pack up and go. Because of funding cuts in Washington, there might be one Enforcement Officer in several counties, and now only work claims when we know other people whom we know are near by.

And yes, these groups are interconnected via their web sites and mailings. What is of real concern is the Republican Party and their support of these groups and using them to affect elections.

they want to privatize everything and just get rid of government and laws and the public sector altogether; take ownership of everything and keep it for themselves or hand it over to their buddies so they can privately profit off it? Drown the gubmint in a bathtub and "let the market decide" everything? Is that their underlying motive for stirring up all the hatred of government and anybody who supports it?

I think that's roughly how Russia ended up with its oligarchs when the Soviet Union collapsed. The guys who had the best connections in the Soviet government when it was dismantled took ownership of government assets like the oil industry, etc., and became billionaires. I imagine Putin was right in the middle of all that and is likely himself a billionaire.

You are right about Russia, and I fear it will be our fate as well. We are being "hollowed out" as a Republic by the .01% and their henchmen in Congress.

but what they don't understand is that they are not observing the true market, they are basing their tirades on a heavily subsidized market where if the damned gubbamint were drowned in a bathtub, they wouldn't be able to afford what they propose... aside from the fact that the oiligarchs will let them do all the dirty work, come swooping in and take what they want leaving the "patriots" high and dry and kick them to the curb.
