Pastor Saeed Abedini was held in Iran since 2012 and sentenced in 2013 to eight years in prison for the crime of spreading Christianity through Iran.
Abedini’s wife told Wolf Blitzer it’s a “joyful day” for her family and they can’t wait until her husband calls so they can hear his voice again.
She talked rather effusively about how much President Obama privately assured her that he’s doing everything he can to secure Abedini’s release, and he made sure the State Department was “continually updating us” on the negotiations.
