Misleading headline, aside, blaming the Flint government, it's their headline story, right now:
'This is not a mistake. They did this. They knew': Michael Moore accuses Flint government of knowingly ignoring poisoned water in impoverished, majority-black city
Director Michael Moore was at the front lines of a rally he held in his hometown of Flint, Michigan, where he claimed the government neglected the city's complaints of a contaminated water supply until it turned into a crisis.
Moore claimed Gov. Rick Snyder knew that 'toxins, pollutants and, eventually, lead' was leaching into the water after the city switched sources - exposing thousands of vulnerable children.
About 200 residents joined the protest, some chanting 'Syder's got to go, hey hey, ho ho, water is a human right' and holding up signs with phrases like 'Callous Rick made Flint sick'.

(26,262 posts)I have to feel a glimmer of hope that this will wake SOME people up. If Democrats would get off of their asses and VOTE, we wouldn't be in this mess, right now.
Flint is a heavily Democratic region, but that might be why Snyder ignored this problem for so long.

(16,038 posts)When large amounts of lead in the ground water was found and the years following the residents who are not in a wealthy part of the US anyway were further kicked by no assistance from the Feds or people responsible for the contamination to help them relocate..they just were too unimportant...as of 10 years ago the school kids don't make fire prevention or tornado safety posters, they make 'don't drink the water' posters....sad....
