Here's a treat for ya...The Guardian reviews Palin's speech yesterday......this is hilarious

2 examples, but there is so much hilarity here:

And so it begins. These two really look great next to each other, don’t they? When in the same room, their spray tans seem almost human. Imagine a hyper-intelligent species from another galaxy coming to Earth and intercepting the satellite feed of this horrendous speech. First of all, they’d have no idea how to decipher our language and second, they’d assume Valencia oranges were our babies.

Instead of leaving the stage for a pee break or sitting down outside of the frame like anyone else would, Trump lingers. He just stands there like the Colossus of Rhodes, breaking character only to give a thumbs up or smile when Palin forms a complete sentence.

But I had to listen to her diatribe again, just to compare notes with Dave Schilling.

And now, Palin totally falls apart and starts speaking as though a tiny man with a cattle prod is silently electrocuting her underneath her podium while she tries to finish her remarks.

Patton Oswalt Just DESTROYED Sarah Palin In This Hilariously Accurate Impression (TWEETS)

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2016/01/21/patton-oswalt-just-destroyed-sarah-palin-in-this-hilariously-accurate-impression/

~snip~

If Sarah was holding a giant flashing neon sign during the speech that said “Please mock me,” it couldn’t have invited ridicule more than she already had within the first one minute of speaking. Needless to say, some of our more liberally bent comedians took to it like wolves to red meat.

Patton Oswalt took notice of her shenanigans and decided to deliver his own blistering impression of an average Sarah Palin speech, which you can read below...

It gives me a chuckle reading all of these wild responses to the gibberish disguised as a speech that our nation was subjected to yesterday, but it only makes me miss David Letterman.

I can just hear him saying, ""And we wonder why they hate us."

When she said "squirmishes" again, I had a distinct deja vu of some late-night comedian, Jimmy Kimmel or maybe Stephen Colbert, it's been so long ago that I can't remember which jokester it was who defined her new word as what happens when a bunch of worms get into a fight.

Letterman expressed regret on his retirement when he heard that Trump was running for president last year.

Palin's return to the political arena is great fodder for comedy but I think that it also marks a sad state of affairs for all of us. Listening to her spewing such garbage gives me the shivers along with making me seriously nauseous... laughter is fleeting because she is all too real.

As Palin ploughs on, Trump’s teeth finally make an appearance on the campaign trail. As disturbingly white as those teeth may be, it’s preferable to his pursed mouth that looks like he’s about to kiss a live salmon.

Cool grandma Sarah decides to let it all hang out and toss some hot jive: “You know, they stomp on our neck, and then they tell us, ‘Just chill, OK just relax.’ Well, look, we are mad, and we’ve been had. They need to get used to it.” This is truly the “I Have a Dream” speech for idiots.

Thumbnail synopsis: The Enterprise goes to a planet to make contact with the inhabitants. Another Federation ship had visited years before, but wrote off the planet as speaking incomprehensible gibberish. Picard makes contact with the leader of the planet, who seems friendly enough, but keeps talking about "Darmak and Gelaad at Tenagra." When Picard can't make hide nor hair of what he's talking about, the leader intones, "Shaka, when the walls fell."

Eventually, the crew figures out that the inhabitants speak a shorthand dialect that references popular myths or historical events. But since they don't know the stories being referred to, they are in the dark about what the planet wants or how to establish friendly relations. The leader of the planet finally makes the ultimate sacrifice to get Picard to understand that his people want to establish relations with the Federation. The Enterprise has to depart, but leaves behind a survey team to suss out the planet's stories and establish a basis for communication.

In the same way, Palin speaks in a dialectic shorthand that refers to the myths and histories that the members of her tribe tell each other over and over again. They're so familiar with the stories that comprehensible sentences or fully-formed thoughts aren't necessary: Those inside the tribe know what she's talking about. When Palin crams ten passwords together in the space of a few seconds, her audience gets what she's talking about as if she held forth for five minutes or more. In fact, by avoiding any detail or nuance, each member of her audience can fill in the gaps in the way most pleasing to each of them, and experience those Rich Lowry starbursts again as if for the first time.

This tribe, unlike that of Darmak, isn't interested in friendly relations with outsiders.

I can't bear to watch much of US politics directly.

I can't watch the debates for whatever party, it's so grotesque. Not necessarily because of the candidates from whatever party, but because of the Beyond Thunderdome context designed by the MSM and co-signed by all of those paying the freight.

I can only stand a few youtube snips of actual discussion by the pundits at MSNBC, FOX, Washington Post, etc. It is so awful.

Over at least two and probably three generations hoi polloi have not just devalued but denied the practice of teaching children and students that correct use of language and logic is an important skill. We are told we can't invalidate Special Snowflake's "cultural identity" by insisting they use standard English. We have been called "snob" or "Grammar Nazi" or, occasionally by the few remaining who can manage the multiple syllables, "pretentious" for using it ourselves. Pop culture sputters out venom about "ivory towers" and "disconnected academics" who can neither offer anything of value nor even relate to "real people" as if the intellectually limited were a separate, and superior, species. We snidely post "TL-DR" on anything with depth and nuance beyond the level of an ad jingle, and think that brevity is always wit and never the absence of wits.

Fifty years of that and you get people who think Caribou Barbie is the realest and superiorest of all, because we collectively have told them so their entire lives. Another thread today mentioned Buckley and Vidal. They would be laughed out of the studio today for expecting "real people" to understand their hi-falutin book larnin'. We didn't fall so far. We jumped, and dragged our children off with us.
