18. I heard WV is going to get it pretty bad. NJ also (where I am)

I don't know how much snow here. I had earlier estimated 4-6 inches.
It is hard to tell bec. it is blowing.

My biggest worry is no heat if the electricity goes, which i am pretty sure it will.
I hate to be cold.
But I will survive. I'm sure there are many people who won't.

I have a church nearby (about 6 blocks). If I can get there thru the snow, they are offering refuge from the cold.
They are a very progressive church. During Hurricane Sandy they also provided refuge, and a charging station.

Getting ready to get dressed shortly, and head back to High St.
Can't wait to see how much more we've gotten -- and it won't stop complete until this afternoon!

here in the western suburbs of DC. I was expecting it to be much worse; it wasn't even very windy.

Kind of dreading the thought that the worst of its yet to come. Or maybe it won't be as bad as they're saying!

Where are you? I'm in Silver Spring, lived in Hagerstown for a couple years, and left my home in Calvert Co., on the river, for duration of the storm.

just north of NYC, just about an inch or two right now but it's snowing very hard right now and that's supposed to continue until tonight and maybe into tomorrow morning. They got the Washington DC forecast perfectly but not ours. Just yesterday morning we were being told 3-6 inches here. Now they're calling for over a foot here and up to 1-1/2 feet in the city.

I think over-all the weather-ologists do a pretty good job.

it's the reporters I can't stand.

all the glee about this extreme weather event.

23. They didn't issue a blizzard

warning for my area until 11 last night. Anyone who went to sleep before that is waking up to a very different situation than they thought they would be. They really did a great job for the DC/Philly area - they were spot on and people had plenty of warning. The problem was the only model that showed it would be bad this far north is considered the least reliable - I guess their luck was bound to change. I'm just staying put. I have food, drink (as do my kitties) and my lights didn't even go out with Sandy so I should be good there.

I hear ya on the reporters hyping everything. Just give me the forecast, let me know what my local conditions are - that's all I really need.
