Didn't he say that about two days ago? I didn't really expect him to give up the opportunity to be "in charge" though.

the heat got too much and he had to return. Then he seemed to stay on camera as long as possible to milk the situation. I swear the NYC mayor's press conference was half as long and included more officials.

He has no chance whatsoever. Let him get back to the business of running NJ.

The best thing that can happen for the residents of that state is for him to ignore them.

I'd rather pick up the tab on his fantasy of being president. It's much less expensive than having him run things.

Two examples of how he can cost the middle and lower-income sectors enormous amounts are:

--he stacked PERC ( where public employees go for appeals), and now it is very difficult for those of us in public unions to get a fair shake. In fact, it's a very corrupt board now, with the PERC arbitrators running over to the other side (law firms that litigate in this area) for jobs.

--The Mt. Laurel decision in NJ was supposed to give moderate and low income groups a shot at living in NJ's higher income communities. Christie has managed to muck up that process from the inside, which is particularly insidious since he has infiltrated academia, who is playing a consultant role.

There are some articles (at nj.com, I think) that detail exactly what has and hasn't been done. Some remark on his whining about how difficult it is for him to get anything done with the Democratic house and senate. This means he's given up on his republicon agenda and is off chasing his fantasy.

The presidential chase is intended to elevate his status so that when he gets arrested, it appears egregious. My opinion only, but I will grant that the first and most important reason is that he's delusional.

It wasn't even all that long ago that he trounced the Democratic candidate in a state that is mostly Democrats.

I do not understand it.
