That's how they became Jefferson Starship and "We Built This City." 
(Right now JIMI is rocking!
Starship was a travesty and that song will ever be ghastly.
The early stuff, "Red Octopus" in particular, was pretty solid, but ye gods, Mickey Thomas. 
The last comments I read from Grace about that era were, let's say, rather pungent.
