(60,044 posts)Worse off $$ but nothing to do with PBO. Lost my job around that time due to downsizing and the market hasn't been kind to my 401K.
Happier mentally because I am out of the corporate world and doing what I love.

(7,480 posts)The president has done a great job. I think things will only continue to get better under the presidency of Secretary Clinton or Senator Sanders. If one of the Republicans gets in office, I fear for the economic well-being of the country. After all, every time we've had a major economic collapse -- the Great Depression or Recession -- it's been under the administration of a former Republican business man like George W. Bush or Herbert Hoover. Now just imagine a business man that's declared bankruptcy as much as Trump being president! Nightmarish, isn't it? For that reason I will enthusiastically support either Democratic candidate.

(35,512 posts)best 7 years of my life. The only down side is getting old. For the younger people that couldn't retire it has not been so good.

(43,238 posts)One of my kid's college plan is paid off and the other is almost done.
Not that there were times intervening between 2009 and now that weren't rather dicey, but all in all, yeah I'm better off.

(1,367 posts)Not much has changed with the economy for real people. I blame repugs for obstruction, sitting on their hands, trying to make President Obama's 2-term presidency a failure. Why they don't called out for it by the media frustrates the hell out of me. Make the country better fuckwads!
The main thing is that I now have health care. I didn't before President Obama.

(20,234 posts)My salary has stagnated - not keeping up with the cost of inflation. But my savings have grown, in part because we spend a grand total of $1.60 per person per day on food, and unless there's snow/ice, I bike the 2.5 hour round trip to work so I don't have to pay for gas.
